Professor Younès Bennani

Keynote Title: The Unintelligence of Artificial Intelligence

Biography:

Younès BENNANI joined the Laboratoire d'Informatique de Paris Nord (LIPN, UMR 7030 CNRS), after a PhD thesis in Machine Learning at the University of Paris XI (Paris-Saclay). He is currently Professor of Exceptional Class at the University Sorbonne Paris Nord (USPN). His research interests focus on machine learning and data science. In 2001, he created the first training program in data science at the Institut Galilée and has been its director since then. In 2005, he created the research team "Machine Learning and Applications" at the LIPN, which he leads until 2011. He was appointed deputy director of the LIPN-CNRS in 2008, in charge of theses and the research valorisation. He has participated in several national and international research projects, published 3 books and more than 300 scientific publications in national and international journals and conferences. He is member of scientific committees of several international conferences and journals, and Associate Editor of the Springer Journal Knowledge and Information Systems. He has the highest level of recognition "Senior member of the IEEE". Deeply involved in the life of the university, he has served as President of the Computer Science Department of Institut Galilée, has been an elected member of the Scientific Council and is elected USPN Administrator in 2016. Since June 2016, he is Vice-President of the USPN in charge of digital transformation.

Professor Rosanna Verde

Biography:

Rosanna Verde is full professor of Statistics at the Department of Mathematics and Physics of the University of the Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. She is coordinator of Bachelor’s in Data Analytics. She is member of the Doctorate in Social and Statistics Sciences of the University of Naples. She is member of several internatioal statistical associations. She was expert evaluator of European Programme IST and of the ERIC Lab (Univ. Lyon 2) in 2008; she has been reviewer of Discovery Grants Program NSERC of Canada (2016). Since 1998, she has been coordinator of National and Regional Projects and she participated to European projects. She has been guest researcher and visiting professor in several foreign Universities and Research Centers. Her main fields of research are: Classification, Symbolic Data Analysis, Data Stream and Functional Data Analysis. She is co-author of more than 150 papers in Journals and in proceedings of international conferences.

Biography:

Prof. Hamid Tairi received his PhD degree in 2001 from the University Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah, Morocco. In 2002 he has done a postdoc in the Image Processing Group of the Laboratory LE2I (Laboratoire d’Electronique, Informatique et Image) in France. Since 2003, he has been an associate professor at the University Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah, FES Morocco.He is the director of the LISAC Laboratory (Laboratoire d’Informatique, Signaux, Automatique et Cognitivisme) and Expert assessor affiliated to CNRST (Centre National pour la Recherche Scientifique et Technique).
His research interests are in visual tracking, in 3-D reconstruction of artificial vision, in medical image, in visual information retrieval and pattern recognition.
